Golnaz Abdoli: A Vision Through the Lens
Golnaz Abdoli, a photographer driven by the profound connection between her camera and the world around her, captures the beauty of nature through an artistic lens. Born in Iran, she spent her early years there before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1980s.
With a background in Biology and Human Development from UC Davis and over two decades as an elementary school teacher, Golnaz discovered her true passion for photography after retiring in 2014. Her work, which emphasizes the interplay of shapes, form, and light, offers a deep, intimate exploration of the world through her lens.
Golnaz’s photography has been featured in numerous exhibitions, including at the Triton Museum, The Griffith Museum, San Francisco Women Artists Gallery, O’Hanlon Gallery in Mill Valley, and Grayloft Gallery in Oakland, California. She was honored with Best of Show at the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel.
“As with most art, I find that photography and its limitless expressions offer us a unique language that transcends time, culture, and faith. I marvel at its ability to bring people together to interpret and express their own unique vision of the images I produce, weaving a tapestry of shared experiences and emotions, connecting us all through the universal language of photography.”
